Congratulations to Harold Lidbitter for his victory in the Seniors section Championship.

Congratulations to the Seniors team in reaching the Finals of The Somerset Bowl, Inter-Club knockout competition, by beating Worlebury GC at Mendip GC. Frome GC will play Farrington GC in the final, the date and venue are yet to be confirmed. Harold Lidbitter & Alan Vowell lost 4 & 3, Ivan Love & Pete Rumming won 3 & 2, Rick Head & Derek Strudwick won 4 & 3, Chris Shellard & Rick Bird lost 3 & 2, Tony Birch & Guy Turner won 3 & 2 . Afternote; Be aware that a putter may fall from a tree adjacent to the 15th hole at Mendip after a Rick Bird launched his after missing a 12" putt. It remains lodged at a great height, probably until autumn! Apologies to those that witnessed this moment of weakness.

 

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to the new club champions of 2008, Jenny Garlick, Trevor Atkinson and Elliot Albiston and to Malcolm Srawley for his Hole in One during the Club Championships, what a time to get one!!!  Well done to you all.

 

CAPTAINS CHARITY DAY
This years Charity Day will be held on Saturday 6 September, starting at 9am with a shotgun start for all competitiors in this Progressive Four Ball Bowmaker. Max allowable handicap is 24 for Men and 30 for the Ladies. Entry fee of £100 per team of four which includes a traditional Ploughmans lunch on return to the Clubhouse. Proceeds raised will go to the Captains chosen charity of The Dorset & Somerset air Ambulance and The Bath Cats & Dogs Home.

Users of the driving range are advised that tokens are now available from the bar for the ball dispenser - £2 for 40 balls.

HANDICAP CERTIFICATES
Would members that request handicap certificates please ensure that they actually take them from the envelope in the Clubhouse, some have been requested as "Urgent" and remain there for months. Old certificates will now be removed on a regular basis.

 

Work on building the new nine holes will be ongoing, as changes are taking place around the course please be aware of any heavy goods vehicles and plant machinery to avoid accidents.
